The O. C. Tanner Amphitheater outside the gates of Zion National Park will show “Sanctuary, The Story of Zion” a musical celebration of one of this nation’s treasures, throughout the summer months. Written by beloved storyteller and songwriter Sam Payne, “Sanctuary” tells the multi-layered story – through pictures, story and song – of our favorite of Utah’s Mighty 5 spectacularly beautiful and most popular national parks.
From our native people, to the settlers who founded this part of the Utah Territory – including our present day residents and you, our welcome tourists – “Sanctuary” chronicles the evolution of the canyon we love, in a way which entertains and educates, leaving the audience with a better understanding of the challenges and triumphs which form our history and that of our neighborhood’s national park.
