In its 2nd season in the beautiful new Ralph J. and Betty Englestad Shakespeare Theater on the campus of Southern Utah University, the Emmy-award winning Utah Shakespeare Festival will present As You Like It (on alternating afternoons and evenings from June 29 – September 7), answers the question, “what’s a boy to do?” especially when the boy is actually a girl who has been asked to help her beloved Orlando woo the woman of his dreams. This is the classic Shakespearean love triangle with a twist! Also performing this summer is Shakespeare in Love (alternating from June 30 – Sept. 8). Adapted from the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, this is the story of a young Shakespeare with writer’s block trying to find inspiration for his most famous love story, Romeo and Juliet. The third offering of 2017 is Romeo and Juliet (beginning on July 1 and running through Sept. 9), Shakespeare’s classic tale of “star-cross’d lovers” and the perfect complement to Shakespeare in Love.

The Utah Shakepeare Festival annually attracts more than 150,000 theater-goers during its 5-month season of plays and musicals. The Englestad Shakespeare Theater provides an open-air theater experience for 921 patrons during the beautiful Cedar City summertime, including the look and feel of an Elizabethan theater but with modern amenities and state-of-the-art technology.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival is a definite “must see” on your list of “things to see and do” in southern Utah, so now’s the time to reserve a beautiful, comfortable and affordable vacation home-away-from-home just AS YOU LIKE IT!
